Helping our communities foster positive youth development
VISION

A community where people help each other to reach their maximum potential.

MISSION

Working together, we are committed to increasing healthy lifestyle choices for everyone in our community.

PREVENTION RESPONSE

Alamosa County Prevention Coalition will collaborate proactively to reduce risk factors and promote protective factors by communication, education and skill building while emphasizing positive youth development and respecting diversity.

WHAT WE DO

Communities That Care (CTC) is a prevention system, grounded in science, that gives communities the tools to address their adolescent health and behavior problems through a focus on empirically identified risk and protective factors.

THE EVIDENCE SHOWS THIS WORKS

A rigorous scientific trial demonstrated that young people from CTC communities were 25% to 33% less likely to have health and behavior problems than those from control communities.
